Future of Memory Clean

TLDR; To get the latest version of Memory Clean 2 for free, please click here.

After many years of maintaining support for Memory Clean 1 and Memory Clean 2 via the Mac App Store, we will be switching to direct distribution of critical updates via our website. Therefore, we encourage everyone who is using Memory Clean 1 & 2 to migrate to our free direct version of Memory Clean 2.

The direct version will provide update notifications and offer the option to auto-install them. For added confidence, the direct version of Memory Clean 2 is notarized by Apple. See explanation below by Apple on what this means:

Give Mac users even more confidence in your software distributed outside the Mac App Store by submitting it to Apple to be notarized. When users on macOS Mojave first open a notarized app, they'll see a more streamlined Gatekeeper dialog and have confidence that it is not known malware.

For those who have purchased the Extreme Clean upgrade, you don't need to worry, as you will be able to unlock it for free on the direct version by simply opening the preferences panel, navigating to the 'Extras' tab and then selecting your Mac App Store copy of Memory Clean that has Extreme Clean unlocked. For full instructions click here. After you have unlocked Extreme Clean on the direct version, you can delete the Mac App Store version (or keep it as a backup).

Going forward, our leading memory cleaning app, Memory Clean 3, will be exclusively available to purchase directly from our website. This change will allow us to provide users with more timely updates and eventually add features that are not supported on the Mac App Store due to Apple’s sandboxing limitations.

We’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the millions of Memory Clean 1 & 2 users that have supported us over the years. For a limited time, you can use coupon code MCTHANKYOU at checkout to get 30% off your purchase of Memory Clean 3.

Best wishes,
